Don’t Stop at The Border!!!

Soooo yeahh… I finally write again. Its been a while huh :)

What a hot day today, I feel like melting. I actually am waiting for an answer from an NPO to which I apply for a part time job as translator, so I have some time to write down this thought that I have in mind about God and HIS guidance in my life. Sooooo, lets jump right in to it. :)

A couple days ago I read something cool in my devotional time about facing the giant . As I’ve always said, I’ve been fighting with “giants” in life. Sometimes I feel like I wanna give up but thank God for all your prayers and support. As I mentioned in my last post, I am struggling with my thesis writing and how I feel discouraged listening to my friends’ story about their struggle with their thesis.

NOTE : Do not let others’ story determine your feeling and action!!!!

I’ve always given my ears to listen to things that dull my spirit and enthusiasm and end up believing that the same thing is gonna happen to me. It took sometime till I realized that that is a deception from the devil, especially because I am writing about Bible Translation I believe the devil don’t want me to continue this project so he uses my friends’ story to kill my enthusiasm.

I’ve been praying since last year that my thesis title would be accepted and after going through some rejections it was finally accepted. Praise the Lord. I was so excited and enthusiastic with this. I collected all materials dealing with the title and the Lord has been faithful in helping me doing that. It was when I started to listen to my friends’ complain about their supervisors that I started to feel discouraged. I worried that the thing happened to them is gonna happen to me as well (where actually “you’ll never know till you have tried”) Sooo, my fear was unreasonable. Don’t imitate that, ok! I could have started at anytime but in fact I’ve been a slacker so far. Its been 8 months since I proposed my title.. (what???? I knew that would be your response). See, how you can turn from a Warrior to a Worrier just because you listen to thoughts that dull your spirit and let those thoughts take root in your mind. It takes the word of God to really pull those thoughts out of my mind. Its simple, the bible says in Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

In the old testament, God brought Israel from victory to victory, His miraculous help accompanied them all the way from Egypt to Canaan. When Samuel was the Judge of Israel he set a stone between Mizpeh and Shen, called it Ebenezer (Stone of help), saying “thus far / to this point in time the Lord has helped us”

Samuel knew the Lord had done a great work; yet he knew there was much more to be accomplished. So, he knew it was not finished, yet he could say, "Thus far the Lord has helped us." God helps us thus far at a time, and His past work is a pledge of future help. Amen!!!

When Moses sent people to spy the land of Canaan in NUMBERS 13, they came back with a report that there are giants in that land and they are so big. That report caused the people to be scared. The Israelite would have asked “Would this be the land of promise?” How can there be giants in the land that God promised He will give to Abraham and his descendant?

They were at the border of Canaan but they were too scared to step in. Those giants caught them off guard.

They focused too much on the giants, forgetting how far has God lead them.

See, its easy for us to get overwhelmed by the situation in life. Sometimes it may look like giant, but don’t let your situation change your view of who your God is. The Israelites wouldn’t have to be discouraged facing those giants if they just looked back and realized how far had God brought them.

What I’m saying is “What God promised in your life, it is He who will accomplish”. My friends, I don’t know what your problem is, what your giant is, but this what I know : The God that has helped you so far is the same God that will help you facing those giants. Don’t stop at the border!!! Whenever you feel like the giant is way too big for you to face, look at how far has God brought you. We can be as sure as Samuel was when he made the Lord his Ebenezer (Stone of help) knowing that HE has helped them so far, HE will help them again. Know this truth my friend, “The Spirit that is in you is bigger than the spirit in this world”. No matter how big your giant might seem to appear, I tell you this truth,

1John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

OUR GOD IS GREATER!!!!! Can I have amen?

Don’t be discouraged, “WHAT HE GETS YOU TO, HE’LL GET YOU THROUGH!”

Israel now has dwell in their promise land, and that becomes a testimony to the whole world that even giants cannot stop HIM from fulfilling His promise in His people’s lives.

AAAAAAMMMMMMEEEENNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, my name is Jack. You're on my personal blog. Here is where I write all my thoughts and where I express my feelings. I also post my music here, so if you ever listened to my songs then you can find the source here as well. I am not a verbal person. I don't say things that I want to say right at the moment, I don't express my feelings right in front of people but I keep them inside and later pour them all out on writings. Sometimes they end up become songs. Thanks for reaching out to this blog. Feel free to leave comments or if you find this blog interesting, just click on the "Share" button so others can read also. Thanks again. Much Love, ~Jack Loloin~
